形容詞とは？

形容詞は「人・物・場所などがどのようなものか」を説明する言葉です。名詞の特徴や性質を表します。

基本的な形容詞

A1レベルでは、以下のような基本的な形容詞を学びます：

大きさ・形

• big（大きい）
• small（小さい）
• long（長い）
• short（短い）
• tall（高い、背が高い）

色

• red（赤い）
• blue（青い）
• green（緑の）
• yellow（黄色い）
• black（黒い）
• white（白い）

感情・状態

• happy（幸せな）
• sad（悲しい）
• tired（疲れた）
• hungry（お腹がすいた）
• thirsty（のどが渇いた）

その他

• new（新しい）
• old（古い、年をとった）
• good（良い）
• bad（悪い）
• hot（熱い）
• cold（冷たい）
• beautiful（美しい）
• interesting（面白い）

形容詞の位置

英語の形容詞は基本的に名詞の前に置きます。

例：

• a big house（大きい家）
• a happy child（幸せな子ども）
• an interesting book（面白い本）
• blue eyes（青い目）

注意点

1. 冠詞（a/an）を使う場合、形容詞は冠詞と名詞の間に来ます：

   • a happy dog（幸せな犬）
   • an old man（年をとった男性）

2. 複数の形容詞を使う場合でも名詞の前に並べます：

   • a small red ball（小さな赤いボール）
   • a beautiful old house（美しい古い家）
